Freelance Consultant/Project Manager: Embrace Arts, Leicester

Embrace Arts, University of Leicester requires a freelance consultant to lead and manage its learning and events programmes whilst the Director is on maternity leave.

 

Embrace Arts has recently launched a new identity that reflects the breadth of its purpose and aims as the University of Leicester’s arts centre to be creative, inclusive, vibrant and welcoming. With our 180 seater hall, three studios, extensive exhibition gallery and bright foyer spaces, we are still one of the only arts centres in the UK that can boast a fully-accessible facility. Our commitment to offer opportunities without barriers in ways that challenge and inspire is clearly stated in our strapline “open to all”. 

We continue to be very proud of our association with Lord Attenborough and all that has been achieved since the centre opened in 1997.

Skills/experience needed: 

§  Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills

§  Ability to programme disability-focused events and events

§   Financial management and ability to work within a tight budget

§  Experience of managing a small-scale venue

§  Understanding of marketing campaigns/strategies

§  Ability to build partnerships both within the university and externally

§  Track record of successful fundraising

§  Knowledge of local/regional arts context 

The successful applicant will report to Jackie Dunne, Director: Institute of Lifelong Learning. 

Fee: £24,000 for average of 3 days per week for 40 weeks commencing 7 April 2010.

Office space is provided at Embrace Arts, Richard Attenborough Centre, University of Leicester 

Applicants are required to send a CV detailing relevant experience/skills and a short proposal (maximum 2 sides A4) highlighting how they would ensure that Embrace Arts continues to flourish whilst the Director is on maternity leave.
