SEMINAR: Ethnic Press

Date: 28th October 2008
Start time: 10:00am
End time: 4:00pm
Venue: The New Art Exchange, Nottingham

The ethnic press is a fast-expanding sector of the media. Often not covered in traditional press campaigns, it can be difficult to break into for press and media contacts at all levels. As audiences for the arts become increasingly more ethnically diverse, a broad knowledge of this media group can help you to effectively communicate with new and growing audiences.

What's it about?
The course will look at how the ethnic press can be used to reach BME audiences. The course includes looking at case studies of successful campaigns, identifying PR strategies, looking at a PR campaign yourself, information about key media events and networking opportunities

Who is it for?
This course is suitable for any press officer or manager who is keen to expand their knowledge of ethnic press and media with a view of successfully targeting BME audiences.

Format
The seminar will include a presentation from a PR professional with case studies and group exercises.

By the end of the session, participants will have gained an insight into ethnic press and media and developed the skills and knowledge needed to use this media sector to their advantage.
